Right size and layout for what I want in a planner, and works well with my fountain pen!

I’ve used various types of pens on my planner… it has never been a bad writing experience. Some notebook paper rip if you use specific pens, but not this one! This has made me look forward to writing in it almost daily as part of my reflections routine.

I’ve been eyeing H&O for years and I’m glad I took the plunge. I’ve waxed poetic about the paper, but the binding, cover, and overall package is solid. Overall, worth every penny!

I like that it is flexible without wasting pages. Hourly layout with lots of space to write your day. Great with washi tapes and stickers.

I purchased the undated to use as a work planner. I like that it allows me flexibility to use when needed without wasting pages for days that don’t get used. The paper quality is impeccable and works well with my favourite gel pens and highlighters without bleeding.

It has been amazing. If you take the journal seriously and do the work - they will change your life. Having your goals in front of you every day, every week, every month, every year in a beautiful organized thoughtful manner ( yes sustainable is very important also )- makes changes. The journals are so much more than planners / calendars / schedules. Digging deep into your personal values, setting goals that align to your values and then breaking them down into daily and monthly goals. It took me a long time to find a journal that assisted to me find my way clearly. Hemlock & Oak was right with me as a planned my early retirement, moved to a small town ( from a big noisy one ), initiated a positive healthy lifestyle and started a new creative career. Not a book where you see where your time is consumed, but a book to see your life’s direction based on your personal values.
- the paper quality is beautiful
- the lay flat spines are wonderful
- love the packaging when it arrives
- love seeing the new colours as they are launched
- reminders for reflection would be great, maybe a sticker to apply at the end of the each month - “Go read your monthly overview”. I sometimes missed this before I started schedule a half day to go back do the overview and review.
- I would love if Hemlock & Oak made a perpetual calendar ( I sent an image ). I really want to keep one. Because they last 7 - 10 years, I don’t want to start one that will not be beautifully aesthetic. I know you can do a really good job of this. :)
