You Can Judge This Book By Its Cover

Feel good about your planner! Whether it's our cozy woven cloths or our new flex covers, each book is crafted with care and uses sustainable materials or recyclable paper. See the description of each material above.

✓ FSC® and SFI® Certified Paper
✓Made in Canada

30,100 m

of plastic saved from the trash

Our ribbon duos are made from 100% recycled material. Instead of using 18.7 miles of new plastic ribbon across our collections, we opted for 100% post-consumer waste ribbons. Plan with sophistication and functionality while making a positive environmental impact.

Made here.

Your time is precious and your memories are priceless. Record them effortlessly in a sophisticated agenda made in Canada.

Hemlock & Oak planners are crafted by a family-owned partner with three generations of experience. We prioritize sustainability, using acid-free FSC®-certified paper made in North America with SFI® Certified Sourcing. Our materials include plastic-free, carbon-neutral, and/or post-consumer waste components.

Discover something with each new collection, featuring unique improvements and cover options. H&O makes it easy to keep track of tasks, manage your schedule, or develop habits that help you grow.

We are currently in the process of manufacturing it and your order is expected to ship in mid-October 2024 (or earlier, if possible). Once manufacturing is complete, we work as quickly as possible to get all orders out. Please note that priority shipments take precedence.

We have successfully shipped four dated collections for the subsequent year using the pre-order model, with increasing complexity each year. Our team works hard to get them to you as soon as possible, and can't wait for you to dive into your new H&O book!
We use UPS or Canada Post when we ship parcels, both domestically and internationally.
We will otherwise ship your pre-order together with in-stock items, so that we can reduce packaging waste and cut down on unncessary carbon emissions. Please order separately if you would like in-stock items to arrive sooner. You may contact us so that we adjust your order.
Please get in touch with us as soon as possible about an address change. We will do our best to get this information updated before your order is sent out. Email hello@hemlockandoak, and please include: your order number, new address and any other details. You can also respond to your order confirmation email!
Please select express shipping at checkout and send an email to hello@hemlockandoak.com so we are fully aware of the urgency; we can do our best to help you with other shipping upgrades.
Planner covers are in development, but we do not have a set date for their availability yet. This product has been designed from scratch using a new material, so we want to make sure the quality is superb and are cautious about overcommitting before they are ready.

2025 Weekly Inserts are in development and will be released at a later date!
Utilizing sustainable materials that are backed with plenty of research is one of our core values. We are constantly investing in new material options, and push the limits of our budget to bring them to you! The 2025 collection includes books with biodegradable LENZING™ ECOVERO™ fibers, made from wood taken from responsibly managed forests and with a 50% lower water impact, with an FSC-certified paper backing.

Our other sustainability practices include:
  • Using zero-waste labels for printing and sticker-making
  • Shipping without plastic and minimizing/vigorously recycling our plastic usage in our own facility
  • Using materials with post-consumer waste and recycled content
  • Partnering with FSC certified, Ancient Forest Friendly mills that practice responsible forest management
  • Ensuring that our materials are renewable and recyclable wherever we can
  • Making our books in Canada to minimize our carbon footprint
We believe that ethical labour, sourcing, and production consists of the following:

  • Adequate breaks, vacation, and sick leave
  • Safe working conditions
  • Strong employment standards and employee rights
  • Equal opportunity for all regardless of gender, race, disability, sexuality, or religion
  • Fair wages and benefits
  • Manufacturing with lower environmental impact
  • Sourcing safe materials

For this reason, we choose to partner primarily with Canadian manufacturers due to the Canadian Human Rights Act, Employment Equity Act, and the Canada Labour Code.

Our personal workplace is small, but provides benefits, flexible hours, and fair pay for all team members. It is woman-owned by Tia Masic, and operates in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
