This and one other blank journal were purchased for my husband. He likes them for his notebooks (he's an engineer). The paper works great for his fountain pen inks. He loves the solid construction.

He would really like them to be bigger in size—the same size as the gridded notebooks I get. (He likes blank pages only.) I think my books are 7 x 10 inches or so, B5.

But obviously, since he asked me to order two more, he's going to keep using them until you size up.

Wonderful paper, lovely strong binding

Beautiful. Period

I bought this as a gift for a friend, so I can only review look and feel of journal. The journal was perfect for my friend. The colors on the website matched the real journal perfectly, and the minimal design made the rose feel even more elegant. The cover felt sturdy, and the pages seemed to be a good thickness without being too heavy. While, I wasn't able to test it, it at least feels like it could handle heavier inks well. I would definitely order from Hemlock and Oak again

sidenote: there were some complications with my order (through no fault of Hemlock and Oak), and they went above and beyond to make sure I could get the item I wanted. I am so impressed with their customer service.
