Our impact, so far

We've been keeping track.

"Sustainable" is a word that gets used a lot. The honest thing, we figured, was to keep track and show our work. Every book we've bound since 2020, every order we've packed, and all the plastic we found ways around. These are the real numbers, and we've been hard on ourselves with them. When we weren't sure, we rounded down.

Counted, not estimated

Sustainability, by the numbers.

55km
of recycled ribbon sewn into our books
Six Mount Everests, stacked.
Recycled ribbon, never virgin
6,000
of plastic shrink wrap we never used
Nearly four hockey rinks of film.
No factory shrink wrap, ever
1.36tonnes
of plastic bubble mailers we skipped
Roughly the weight of a car.
No plastic mailers, both ends
2,100
of shipping paper, all 100% recycled
About eight tennis courts.
Zero virgin fibre, zero new trees
100%
of our covers are genuine cloth. What others call "premium" is usually faux leather, which is just plastic with a nicer name. Ours is FSC-certified bookcloth, natural and responsibly sourced.
Cloth ages beautifully. Plastic flakes into microplastics as it breaks down.

Every figure is counted straight from our own production and shipping records, then rounded down. No estimates dressed up as data.

No greenwashing. Just the receipts.

None of this makes us perfect, and we won't pretend otherwise. We're a small team in Coquitlam trying to make things worth keeping while leaving as little behind as we can. There's further to go, and we'll keep at it. But this is what the last few years add up to, and honestly, we're proud of it.
