Let's stop throwing away disposable pens. Let's start writing with something we can keep for generations to come.

At Hemlock & Oak, we're passionate about stationery that is made in North America. We'd like you to have access to high-quality items and feel good about supporting ethically and environmentally-sound products.

Enter Tactile Turn. These pens are works of art that are machined and hand-assembled in Texas, started by Will Hodges with the intention of creating pens that could withstand a lifetime of use. These all-metal pens are simple and elegant, and use a Side Click mechanism which is incredibly satisfying in both feel and sound.

Tactile Turn is a company that's all about local, and we're happy to stock their products.

Materials:

  • Copper

Natural antimicrobial properties. Creates a layer of tarnish (patina) that darkens with time and use.

  • Bronze

Alloy consisting mostly of copper and tin. Machines beautifully and, like copper, will patina with time and use.

  • Titanium

Tough, lightweight, and extremely corrosion resistant. The best-selling material Tactile Turn works with.

  • Zirconium

Exists in small quantities, hence the added expense. Resistant to corrosion and resembles dark grey titanium.

The pens shown in product photos are size Short (5.3").

*Patinas are protection that coats over metals like bronze and copper, and they are considered an artistic effect. If you prefer the original shine, you can polish patinas with a metal polisher such as brasso.
